Dr. Mike Adams is renowned as a leading metallurgists globally, and is included in Stanford/Elsevier’s World’s Top 2% Scientists in the field of Mining & Metallurgy. His focus with Lifezone has been on the implementation and commercialisation of Lifezone’s proprietary hydrometallurgical processes for PGMs, gold and base metals recovery, as well as authoring, oversight and management of Lifezone’s six active patent families covering some 159 countries. Mike has managed projects worldwide including Africa, Australia and South America. He is responsible for technical and corporate oversight of Simulus and supports process flowsheet development, demonstration and design for our projects.
Mike completed BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees in Applied Chemistry at Witwatersrand University, a PhD on The Chemistry of the Carbon-in-Pulp Process and a Doctor of Science in Engineering on Advances in the Processing of Gold Ores. Mike is former Associate Editor for a technical journal in the field of hydrometallurgy and has edited three books, including ‘Gold Ore Processing’, 2nd edition, published in 2016 by Elsevier. Mike is a Chartered Professional (CP Metallurgy), and Fellow of the AusIMM, SAIMM and Royal Society of Chemistry.
