Brett is a co-founder and director of the Simulus Group. Over the past 18 years he has gained extensive operational and commissioning expertise encompassing a range of hydrometallurgical processes including copper, uranium, nickel, cobalt and gold. He has wide-ranging project management, design, metallurgical testwork, project financial analysis and due diligence experience for projects around the world.

Director/ Principal Metallurgist

Simon is the principal metallurgist with Simulus Engineers. Over the past 20 years he has gained extensive operational expertise across a range of hydrometallurgical and mineral processing applications including nickel, cobalt, alumina, copper, gold, iron ore/magnetite, base metals and rare earths. His broad range of experience also covers plant operations and commissioning, process and operational supervision, process simulation, project studies, detailed design, metallurgical testwork management and competent person reporting. He has regularly been seconded to provide lead/principal metallurgist/process engineer support as a client representative and to third party engineers.

Principal Process Engineer

Brett is a Principal Process Engineer at Simulus Engineers & Simulus Laboratories and until recently was the Lead Process Engineer / Laboratory Manager. He has over 20 years’ experience in the mining and mining chemicals industry both in Australia and Brazil. Brett has a broad range of experience; including roles in operations and commissioning, process design, project engineering, technical reviews, engineering, commissioning and metallurgical laboratory management. This experience was gained across many commodities including copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc, alumina, gold, platinum group metals, graphite, antimony, vanadium, uranium and mining chemicals.

Lead Simulation Engineer

Simon is a senior process engineer and leads the simulation team at Simulus. He has 11 years post-doctoral simulation and engineering experience. Simon’s broad knowledge of both simulation and process allows him to push the boundaries of conventional process simulations in  the metallurgical industry, often combining the power of two or more process packages to create more predictive models for clients. He has had  recent experience in mineral processing and hydrometallurgical extraction of nickel, cobalt, copper, rare earths, vanadium, zinc, lead, uranium,  phosphates and gold. Recently Simon has been involved in the development of a number of novel hydrometallurgical nickel flowsheets for both  sulphide and laterite processing.
